Dieser Alma Libre Mezcal "Mistica" wird aus der wilden Cuishe Agave hergestellt und in kleinen Mengen (sogenannten "Lots") in 4. Generation traditionell hergestellt. Dieser Mezcal ist sozusagen ein "Mezcal aus Hamburg"´, da beiden Gründer Matthias und Sören in Hamburg beheimatet sind.

Die wilde Agavensorte "Cuishe"
Agave Cuishe (oder Cuixe) ist eine wilde Agave aus der Karwinskii Familie, zu der auch Madre-cuishe und Barril gehören. Sie wächst in einer zylindrischen, stielförmigen Piña, mit an der Spitze ausgebreiteten Blättern. Sie ist oft etwas kleiner als Madre-cuishe und ergibt einen intensiv aromatisierten Mezcal mit hoher Mineralität und Gewürznoten. Wichtig ist jedoch, dass sich der Name Cuish je nach Region auf leicht unterschiedliche Pflanzen beziehen kann. Zum Beispiel kann ein Cuish aus dem Gebiet von Santa Catarina Minas tatsächlich eine Agaven-Rhodacantha sein, die der Agave Mexicano ähnelt.
